New census reports that not only is the southeast conference simply so much better than everyone else, but the Virginia Alpine Ski and Snowboard Team does one thing: bring home hardware. It’s time for the heavily anticipated, Mid-Atlantic Regionals Rewind:
Jitney Fitzgerald and her BJA placed first for UVA on Friday’s Ladyskier Slalom course (saw that fall on the cat track though 👀) Did anyone actually see Logan go down Saturday’s GS course?!? No. But you could actually hear her breaking the sound barrier, taking first overall, and helping our lady skiers place 4th in the region. Lady Freeskiers came in second overall with Cat DeParkPark placing second in Friday’s Slopestyle.
Sorry guys my roommates are so much better than yours: Madam Secretary Glizzy Lizzy came sixth in the region for Lady Boarders GS. My riding theory is that Eliza’s days as a ski racer kid (derogatory) gave her an advantage on the ice skating rink that was the snowboard GS course. Wanya came in 10th, proving the speed boosting capabilities of mass vegetable consumption. Overall Lady Boarders finished second in GS!!! AND Maddie threw a steeze filled stiffy during SlopeStyle; winning first in my heart.
Here we go again, nothing special here. Charlie Olsen came second in Friday’s Slalom for man skiers. On Saturday, things got dicey and spicy when Chucko slid into first in GS. Overall, Men’s Skiers secured 4th place in the region.
Oh how they grow up so fast!! Man Boarders got 3rd in Friday’s GS race!!! They did it all with the power of Billy showing up to a race, placing ninth in his run, and Ross’ mysterious powers that come with the granny dress. Our man boarders ALSO placed 5th overall in slope style.
Stay tuned little vassters because all of our teams qualified for nationals, and this week we’re bringing the DURTY south to Mammoth, California! (No, because seriously why do I have to be at the airport in roughly 6 hours).
